I have had a lovely weekend. I have enjoyed a three-day weekend so much. It was nice to get some relaxation from all the stress associated with school. I think I can finally report the classes I am taking this semester accurately. I am down to only three classes this semester due to problems I had which I will not indulge here. Now I am taking US History on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, English Composition on Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons, and Computer Programming in Java on Tuesday evenings. That is a grand total of 11 credit hours for my first semester. That is a little less than I hoped for, but the counselor told me it is normal for a first semester freshman to take less.
Today I went to my first Californian Brethren Assembly. If you do not know what that is, feel free to email me and I’ll explain. But most of my family should know what it is. What can I say besides it was a very pleasant experience. The people were so friendly and kind, so much more so than the other churches I tried the last couple of weeks. It reminded me much of Villa Hills (my church in Belleville). It was a bit larger than Villa Hills, but I really think that the people were just as kind. The church was called Grace Bible Chapel. There were people of all ethnic groups. There was especially a large number of Indian people (from India). This assembly even has separate meetings for Romanians and Koreans in their native languages. Apparently a few of the leaders were out of town this week, so they had a couple of Missionaries who spoke. One missionary was from Bolivia and the other was from India. And there was an Indian gentleman who sang a beautiful Christian song in his native language. It reminded me of a Bollywood Movie, which I really liked. I really think I might keep going to this church. I might check out a couple of other assemblies, but I will leave this one opened as a strong possibility.
As far as Ravi Zacharias is concerned, I think the information I got on his church was faulty. I’m not even sure he is a pastor. He may be a traveling evangelist for all I know. I just got a little scared when I went to the Churches website, and it was all in another language. I decided to try this assembly instead, and I’m glad I did. If anyone knows anything about Ravi Zacharias and his church, let me know. But for now it doesn’t look to promising.
